The south african inventor, physicist and businessman Elon Musk has achieved a lot of things in his life and he’s only 45 years old. Here are some motivational facts about the co-founder of PayPal, Tesla Motors, Space X, Hyperloop and OpenAI.
He became famous for starting Tesla Motors (2003) and Space X (2002), but he first made his fortune as a co-founder of one of the most famous e-commerce platforms in the world, PayPal.
Did you know that Elon Musk provided a large amount of inspiration for the Hollywood character Tony Stark/Iron Man? Actually, he appears in a couple of cameos in Iron Man 2.
At age 12, he taught himself computer programming and created a video game (‘Blastar’) which he sold for $500 USD.
He dropped out of Stanford University to establish his first company ‘Zip2’ (1995), which provided online newspapers. He sold the company in 1999 for $307 million.
Continuing with his passion for technology, after co-founding several tech companies (and with a lot of money in his pocket, of course), Musk established the Musk Foundation (2002), which is a group commited to space exploration and discovering clean energy sources.
Oh! And he also joined Steve Jobs in the $1 dollar anual salary for Tesla Motors. He has been referred to as a ‘thrillionaire’, a new class of hight-tech entrepreneurs looking to use their wealth to make science fiction dreams into a modern reality.
There’s no doubt that Elon has worked really hard to get where he is now. His passion for technology and perseverance in finding new ways and innovate have been an essential part of his success, plus, he also is a philantopist. He was named one of the 75 most influential people in the 21st. century and he certainly is. For Elon, FAILURE WAS (and still is) NEVER AN OPTION and… look at him now.
